Enjoy the Journey

I was completing Day 1 of a bible study on the Bible app titled, "Dangerous Prayers". The last scripture for Day 1 came from Psalm 34:17 which states in the KJV, "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles". This scripture reminded me that God always promises to be with us. He promises to be there. So many times when we are experiencing trials and tribulations in the midst of a promise, we get caught up in "when" the trial is going to be over or "how" the promise is going to come to pass. I have done this several times myself so much that I'm constantly training myself to stop asking those questions. I don't even bother because asking those questions only distracts me from God's plan and the perspective He wants me to see. There is something in the midst of the trial that we are supposed to learn from. There is always something to take away from a test...that's how we end up with a tes...

He is Sufficient

Several weeks ago, I was reflecting on a recent adversity. I thanked God for reminding me that He is near, for reminding me that He is for me and not against me, that He is on my side, and He is in my corner. I thanked God for His power. I was then reminded that His power is sufficient . His Word is sufficient . His touch is sufficient . Everything we need is in Him. He is the answer to any problem we encounter. Merriam-Webster defines the word sufficient as "enough to meet the needs of a situation or a proposed end". When faced with adversity we should seek Him first. Scripture reminds us that if we acknowledge Him in all of our ways, then He will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:6). When a problem arises, let's acknowledge our Father immediately. I believe He will then direct our path on how to overcome or fix that problem. This doesn't mean you have to pray a long and drawn out prayer. This can be short and to the point.
