Don't Look Back!

I was reading over my notes from the corporate fast that I did at the beginning of the month. This fast was about springing forth. To spring forth means to begin to grow, to produce quickly or unexpectedly, to break forth or come into sight, to thrive.

Isaiah 43:18-21 says
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.  Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.  The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.  This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise."

When I read this scripture during the fast, I was reminded that I at times have dedicated a lot of time to looking back at old situations, having regrets, wallowing in mistakes, and being mad at myself for the things I've done or being upset with people for the things they did to me. This scripture opened my eyes to see that if I'm so focused on looking back then I'm not looking forward. I can't appreciate what's in front of me and I won't be prepared for something new when it comes my way because I've spent my time looking back at things that cannot and will not change.

Don't ponder on the things behind you, things of both recent and old. Look forward to the new things God has in store for you. You don't want to miss it when things start to spring forth. Look ahead of you and not behind. The past is the past and there is nothing that we can do change it. There are new things ahead. NEW things! New finances, new relationships, new connections, new blessings, new hope, new peace, new joy, new perspective. The list goes on and on!

What do you want to be new in your life? Speak it. Declare that new thing until the Lord brings it to pass. Declare it with faith and confidence and use scriptures that align with what you are believing God for. Get ready for the new things. Make room for the new things. God is doing a new thing and you shall know it in Jesus name!

God Bless You & I hope this has been an inspirational seed for your soul. 🌼

Speak the Word

One day I was sitting in my prayer room talking with God about how I felt about something. I can't even remember what I was probably rambling about at this point but I have the message that followed still written on my dry erase board. It says, "Instead of speaking how you feel, speak what God actually said, speak His Word. If you don't have a Word, then call on His name. There is power in the name of Jesus....to break every chain!" This hit me like a ton of bricks and my perspective and mood immediately shifted as if I was just realizing this for the first time. Understanding this freed me from the captivity of my thoughts and feelings within that moment about that specific issue. I literally snapped out of it. God doesn't mind when we vent but if we're being honest, we know sometimes we've talked to God about that same thing a million times and each time our feelings haven't changed. Let's grow from that and start to declare the Word of God over ...
